MacOS X 10.7.0 (Lion) is the first version of the Macintosh operating system to come bundled with Khmer Unicode fonts (Khmer MN, Khmer Sangam MN) and a Khmer keyboard (Apple menu > System Preferences... > Personal > Language & Text > Input Sources). Khmer Bibles on http://www.biblecambodia.org will display Khmer text properly in Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Opera browsers on the MacOS in Lion for a Khmer font will be temporarily uploaded and embedded in the web pages. For Safari a recommended setting is: Safari menu > Preferences > Appearance tab > Default encoding: Unicode (UTF-8) Khmer subscripts will be replaced with ‘+’ signs and dotted circles in FireFox 3.6.22 on MacOS 10.5.8 but Khmer text is properly rendered in Safari 5.0.6 on that OS version. A free custom Mac keyboard utility is available via http://scripts.sil.org/ukelele Khmer specific keyboards are available elsewhere.
